About the position

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our Quality Engineering team at Walmart Global Tech. This role focuses on ensuring software quality through test automation, particularly for mobile applications and backend APIs. The SDET will take ownership of the testing process, from requirement analysis to test execution, and will actively participate in Agile Scrum meetings to collaborate with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing, particularly in mobile app automation and API testing, and will be driven to enhance product quality that directly impacts customers.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business/functional requirements to create test design suite and execute test cases for a product delivered on native Mobile APP.
• Take full end-to-end ownership of assigned business requirements, including requirement analysis, test data preparation, test design, automation coding, and execution on builds.
• Participate in Agile Scrum meetings, represent daily work status, and engage with stakeholders including Product, Program, and Development teams.
• Write Automated (BDD - Cucumber) test cases for backend APIs using Java, Springboot, and Jenkins.
• Write mocks for external services to achieve test automation.
• Conduct API testing and ensure quality of backend services.
• Test native mobile App UI based on requirements and automate using Java/Appium framework.
• Participate in production defect triage analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in software testing, with a focus on Mobile Native App Automation.
• 3+ years of experience with API testing, both manual and automated, including service mocking.
• 3+ years of experience in automation API testing using Java and REST Assured.
• Knowledge of Kafka queues and testing them is an added advantage.
• 2+ years of experience testing Mobile native app UI using Appium and Java for automation.
• Strong communication skills and a self-motivated attitude.

Nice-to-haves

• Quality assurance certification (e.g., CSTE, CSQA).
• Experience in retail, supply chain, eCommerce, or healthcare industries.
• Knowledge of accessibility best practices and WCAG 2.2 AA standards.
