About the position

As a Computer Vision Engineer at Walmart, you will be responsible for designing, training, and deploying advanced AI models in a real-world production environment. Your role will involve collaborating with various product and technology teams to enhance consumer experiences in physical retail spaces through innovative computer vision solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop computer vision algorithms and machine learning models to enhance customer-facing applications.
• Research, develop, and analyze computer vision algorithms related to object detection, tracking, product identification, and scene understanding.
• Ensure model robustness, generalization, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
• Write product or system development code.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis and define features based on model responses.
• Mentor and guide junior associates on modeling and analytics techniques.
• Build relationships with key stakeholders to identify business needs and implement solutions.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or holding a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Vision, or a related technical field, or an MS with 2 years of industry experience.
• Experience in machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision.
• Proficiency in programming languages relevant to the role.
• Strong analytical skills and knowledge of statistical methods and modeling techniques.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with open-source frameworks like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Knowledge of accessibility best practices and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards.
