About the position

As a Computer Vision Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, training, and deploying advanced AI models in a real-world production environment. This role involves collaborating with various product and technology teams to enhance consumer experiences in physical retail spaces. You will engage in research and development of computer vision algorithms, ensuring model robustness and efficiency while adhering to best practices in engineering and computer vision.

Responsibilities

  • Develop computer vision algorithms and machine learning models to enhance customer-facing applications.
  • Collaborate within projects with a mixed team of software engineers and computer vision engineers.
  • Research, develop, and analyze computer vision algorithms related to object detection, tracking, product identification, and scene understanding.
  • Ensure model robustness, generalization, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
  • Write product or system development code.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis and define features based on model responses.
  • Perform trend and cluster analysis on data to provide business insights and recommendations.
  • Mentor and guide junior associates on modeling and analytics techniques.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or has obtained a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Vision, or a relevant technical field, or an MS with 2 years of industry experience.
  • Experience in machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as R or Python.
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of statistical methods and modeling techniques.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with open-source frameworks like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and WCAG 2.2 AA standards.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences.
