About the position

The Walmart Facility Services team is a dynamic group comprising over 5,000 associates and numerous contractors dedicated to establishing a world-class maintenance program through a data-driven asset management strategy. This team is tasked with optimizing the total cost of ownership and uptime for Walmart's extensive physical assets, which include more than 5,000 stores, clubs, distribution centers, and fulfillment centers. As the Facility Services team expands its responsibilities and footprint, it aims to realize its vision of becoming the most reliable and sustainable facility services platform globally, thereby enhancing service to Walmart's customers, members, associates, and the communities it serves. In this role, you will be responsible for executing the asset management and maintenance strategy across over 1,000 locations within a defined geographic area. Specifically, you will lead a large team of over 1,000 internal maintenance technicians, maintenance managers, regional maintenance managers, and maintenance directors. Your leadership will encompass the execution of various maintenance strategies, including reactive, proactive, condition-based monitoring, and predictive maintenance for all physical assets owned, leased, or maintained by Walmart. This position also involves P&L management, customer relationship management, asset lifecycle management, and people leadership, all aimed at achieving the objectives of the Walmart Facility Services team and the Realty department. To excel in this role, you should have a minimum of 10 years of experience leading a national multi-facility maintenance and facilities project team, with a proven track record of developing successful national multi-facility maintenance programs. You will need to demonstrate your ability to lead large and dispersed teams of internal associates and maintenance contractors, possess in-depth knowledge of maintenance contract management and negotiation, and have experience in change management, particularly in transitioning maintenance programs from reactive to reliability-centered approaches. Your data-driven mindset and attention to detail will be crucial in identifying opportunities and building business cases through data trend analysis, ultimately driving positive change and measuring outcomes to validate success or failure. You will also oversee financial sustainability for the department by reviewing and presenting budgets, evaluating expenditures, and authorizing capital expenditures. Your role will involve guiding negotiations with contractors, ensuring compliance with construction contracts, and developing strategic plans to minimize financial and reputational risks. Additionally, you will be responsible for cultivating a highly skilled and engaged workforce, promoting diversity and inclusion, and fostering a culture of integrity and ethics within the organization. This position requires a strong focus on customer service, strategic thinking, and collaboration across various teams and stakeholders.
