About the position

The Senior Director of Center of Excellence at Walmart is a pivotal role within the Event Solutions team, responsible for leading and managing a large team to deliver world-class events and experiences. This position involves strategic oversight of talent acquisition, vendor sourcing, budgeting, and best practices, ensuring alignment with Walmart's mission to help people save money and live better. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, executive presence, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively while fostering collaboration across various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and mentor a high-performing team of event professionals.
• Develop and champion event best practices, maintaining an understanding of industry trends.
• Drive celebrity and guest talent acquisition strategy across the enterprise.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key external and internal partners.
• Manage the RFP vendor process, including developing and distributing RFPs and negotiating contracts.
• Monitor and track vendor performance to ensure high-quality services.
• Oversee event budgets and forecasting to ensure accuracy and adherence to guidelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Serve as a company ambassador at industry events and conferences.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role managing large budgets and third-party vendors.
• Proven history of planning and executing large-scale, high-quality events.
• Exceptional people leadership and team management skills.
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills with industry stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure.
