About the position

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Data Analytics who will play a crucial role in the Health & Wellness Quality and Safety Domain. This individual will utilize statistical methods, data exploration techniques, and improvement science to bring actionable insights to our organization. They will be responsible for integrating data from multiple sources, conducting data analysis, and driving improvements in patient outcomes. The Senior Manager will serve as the principal analyst and work closely with data science and product teams to develop and operationalize predictive and prescriptive models. Additionally, they will collaborate with the data-tech solutions team to define requirements for the development of advanced analytics tools. This position requires expertise in statistical methodology and the ability to conceptualize new measures and performance-based KPIs. The Quality Intelligence and Program Metrics team is part of the Quality & Safety domain within Walmart Health & Wellness. The Quality Intelligence and Program Metrics team leads OKRs for the Quality & Safety domain; provides governance and stewardship for data, measures, and analytics tools; and actioning on a data-driven transformation. Our team is subject matter experts in data quality assurance and database management; pharmacy and health informatics; quality measurement methodologies; statistics and improvement science; and data analysis and visualization fluency for bringing actionable insights to our domain. In this role, you will be making patient safety event data actionable through visualization of patterns, clusters, and trends over time, integration of data from multiple data lake sources, and categorization of events. You will perform analytics support to quality and safety experts in telling more complex stories with data, demonstrating interactions and correlations between data points, and stratification analysis through hierarchical ontologies and classification systems. You will provide statistical expertise and support to quality and safety experts through pre-, post-improvement studies, correlation and causation tests, control charts and improvement science charting, building custom metrics and justification of composite measures. Additionally, you will create slide decks as executive read-outs and stakeholder presentations utilizing charting, visualizations, and storytelling with data. As an advisor for the development of advanced analytics tools, you will help build data mart environments and self-service analytics platforms, and guide how data is presented in tools through statistical charting, storytelling, and meaningful ways.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Arts, Finance or related field and 4 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
  • Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
  • 6 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
  • 1 year's supervisory experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a related field such as Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, or Information Technology.
  • Related industry experience in retail, merchandising, healthcare, or eCommerce.
  • Successful completion of assessments in data analysis and Business Intelligence tools and scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, Spark, Scala, R, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Supervisory experience.
