About the position

The role involves managing the Walmart US E2E Data Engineering ETL Team, focusing on developing and executing the data engineering roadmap. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, mentor team members, and ensure effective architecture and design practices. The position emphasizes the importance of delivering comprehensive data solutions that empower customers and drive strategic planning.

Responsibilities

• Own major components of the data engineering roadmap.
• Drive alignment with other teams and guide architecture and design within the team.
• Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of team members.
• Develop team members' careers and assign projects tailored to their skills and goals.
• Participate in code reviews and facilitate design discussions.
• Coordinate inter-team dependencies between ETL and application development.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field and 5 years' experience in software engineering or related field.
• Previous experience as a technical lead or manager.
• Proficient in SQL (SQL Server, BigQuery, etc.).
• Knowledge of GCP products, particularly BigQuery and GCS.
• Experience with ETL integration/orchestration tools (SSIS, Dataproc, Airflow, etc.).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics.
• Knowledge of accessibility best practices and WCAG 2.2 AA standards.
• Background in creating inclusive digital experiences.
