About the position

As a Senior Manager, Software Engineering at Walmart Commerce Technologies, you will lead an engineering team focused on developing a new Retail Media SaaS product. This role involves transforming existing technologies into a commercial offering for retailers, ensuring operational excellence, and fostering a culture of innovation within the team. You will have significant autonomy to shape the team's processes and culture while driving strategic technical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead an engineering team that is commercializing the Retail Media product.
• Drive strategic technical decisions to transform current home-grown technologies into a SaaS offering.
• Establish durable ways of working with product peers and other internal engineering teams.
• Build and coach a team of individual contributors and align their strengths to outcomes.
• Foster a culture of innovation and operational excellence.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience mentoring other engineers.
• 6+ years of experience as an individual contributor in engineering.
• Background in retail or ad-tech, SaaS, or building multi-tenant platforms or services.
• Experience architecting technical strategies for platform products that can serve many customers.
• Experience in building and leading lean engineering teams.
• Ability to clearly articulate a technical vision and energize engineers towards outcomes.
• Experience working with large scale systems and cloud native systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area.
• 3 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
• Knowledge of creating inclusive digital experiences and implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards.
