As a Senior Manager in Software Engineering at Global Tech, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of e-commerce technology. Your ability to build strategic relationships across various teams will be essential in designing omni-presence solutions that meet the needs of the organization. You will also be tasked with mentoring and coaching your team, fostering an environment of growth and high performance. Your expertise in stakeholder and program management will be vital as you interact with e-commerce teams across different geographies, leveraging their expertise to contribute to the tech community. Additionally, you will engage with senior leadership to chart the future roadmap of products, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals. Responsibilities

  • Lead a globally distributed engineering team to design, develop, and deliver scalable solutions for e-commerce.
  • Manage a high-performing team of 10-12 engineers, ensuring accountability for end-to-end delivery.
  • Drive the execution of multiple business plans and tech initiatives, effectively communicating plans and priorities.
  • Establish best engineering practices and operational excellence backed by product and engineering metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver omni-solutions across the Global Tech organization.
  • Engage with Product Management and Business to set priorities and deliver customer-centric products.
  • Mentor and coach team members to foster growth and high performance.
  • Interact with e-commerce teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community.
  • Work closely with Architects and cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet quality, cost, and delivery standards.
  • Participate in hiring and building agile teams, enabling them to perform at a high level.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering and product development.
  • Proven experience managing a high-performing team of 10-12 people with accountability for complete end-to-end delivery.
  • Strong stakeholder and program management skills.
  • Extensive experience with Java, Spring/Spring Boot, and React JS/Angular JS.
  • Demonstrated engineering excellence in code quality, performance tuning, and operational excellence.
  • Experience with cloud distributed systems in production for at least 2-3 years.
  • Knowledge of creating scalable and distributed middle-tier frameworks, preferably using event-driven architecture in cloud environments like Azure or GCP.
  • Proficient in Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.
  • Experience with RESTful/SOAP web services and unit testing frameworks (JUnit/Spock/Jest).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD development environments/tools such as Git, Maven, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps.
  • Strong hands-on development skills to prototype technical solutions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation and consensus building.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in computer science or related field with 3 years of experience in software engineering.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences and knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards.
  • Experience with accessibility best practices and integrating digital accessibility into products.
