As a Senior Manager in Software Engineering at Walmart, you will lead and manage large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects. Your role will involve reviewing project requirements and translating them into effective technical solutions. You will direct root cause analysis of critical business and production issues by thoroughly reviewing and analyzing information, including issues, impacts, criticality, and possible root causes, while directing actions as designated in the plan. You will also promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application, ensuring compliance, and utilizing and supporting the Open-Door Policy. You will be part of Walmart's Affiliates and Social Commerce team, which is responsible for building highly scalable and reliable APIs, data pipelines, web services, applications, and integrations that will drive the next generation of affiliates, API platforms, and social commerce experiences. This team is highly entrepreneurial and is focused on innovation and development to enable new experiences that have not been thought of before. Your leadership will be crucial in mentoring and guiding the professional and technical development of your team members, helping to develop their careers, and assigning them to projects tailored to their skill levels, personalities, work styles, and professional goals. In this role, you will participate in code reviews, facilitate design discussions, and optimize engineering practices. You will have hands-on experience with building full-stack systems using technologies such as React, JavaScript, GraphQL, REST web services, SQL, and NoSQL databases, as well as programming languages like Scala, Python, or Java. You will also have a track record of delivering high-impact products in broadly defined subject domains and exposure to public clouds like Azure and GCP, particularly GCS, BigQuery, and DataProc. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential, as you will need to present to both technical and non-technical audiences.
