About the position

As a Senior Android Software Engineer at Walmart, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of large-scale mobile applications that impact millions of customers. You will work closely with business partners and external stakeholders to provide robust technical solutions, lead fellow engineers, and manage the quality of the application codebase.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain large-scale mobile applications.
  • Work closely with business partners to provide technical solutions to business problems.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders on refining data contracts and managing development priorities.
  • Lead fellow engineers through architectural guidelines and best practices in mobile development.
  • Manage quality and application codebase for one or more products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related area, or 5 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Mastery of Kotlin and Gradle.
  • Strong working knowledge of REST and external data sources.
  • Experience with state-of-the-art Android libraries (AndroidX, Retrofit, etc.).
  • Ability to build products with a focus on testability and a love for test coverage.
  • Disciplined approach to development, code review, testing, documentation, and code structure in a team environment.
  • Desire to improve, learn more, and take things to the next level.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences and knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards.
