About the position

As a Software Developer Engineer in Test at Walmart Global Tech, you will be part of a cross-functional team focused on developing and implementing automated tests, tools, and frameworks to ensure the high quality of software applications. This role involves collaboration with engineers to solve complex problems, writing clean code, providing mentorship to junior engineers, and contributing to project plans and technical specifications. Your expertise in quality testing for large-scale eCommerce and web applications will be crucial in driving continuous improvement and efficiency within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop tools and automation for testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex software problems.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Lead technical design and architecture discussions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and manage projects.
  • Perform code reviews and ensure code quality standards are met.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in software development.
  • Participate in Agile development methodologies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including product managers, designers, and other engineers.
  • Contribute to the development of technical specifications and project plans.
  • Model compliance with company policies and procedures, supporting the company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Strive for continuous improvement in efficiency.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional coding experience with any programming language (preferably Python/JavaScript).
  • 8+ years of experience developing test automation and frameworks.
  • Experience with REST web services, CI/CD processes, and working with databases.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience as part of a test team.
  • Background in quality testing for large-scale eCommerce and web applications.
  • Experience with designing, developing, and maintaining software tools/applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area.
  • 1 year of experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards and assistive technologies.
  • Experience in creating inclusive digital experiences.
