About the position

As a Software Engineer II at Sam's Club, you will play a crucial role in translating requirements into technical solutions, writing code, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will oversee small project teams, providing guidance and expertise in software development, particularly in Java and related technologies. Your work will focus on optimizing processes and enhancing delivery protocols, contributing to the development of best-in-class methodologies that impact business operations.

Responsibilities

  • Translate requirements into technical solutions and write code.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop software solutions.
  • Oversee small project teams and provide guidance as a subject matter expert.
  • Evaluate large amounts of data to optimize processes and delivery protocols.
  • Implement best practices in software development, including code review and documentation.
  • Develop RESTful Microservices and manage API design and development.
  • Utilize container technologies such as Docker on Kubernetes.
  • Build products with a focus on testability and maintain high test coverage.
  • Contribute to the DevOps culture and build CI/CD processes with automation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering, or 4 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Extensive expertise in object-oriented programming, particularly in Java8 and related frameworks.
  • Strong experience in RESTful Microservices and API development.
  • Expert knowledge of SpringBoot, MQTT, and messaging architectures like Kafka.
  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with cloud architecture, preferably Azure.
  • Superior analytical skills and a good problem-solving attitude.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in creating inclusive digital experiences and knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and assistive technologies.
