About the position

The position involves leading the Replenishment Planning team at Sam's Club, focusing on advanced planning software to forecast demand and optimize inventory levels. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to align business objectives and establish metrics for measuring progress. The candidate will analyze requirements, mediate stakeholder conflicts, and guide teams in creating Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) while proactively identifying areas for product enhancements based on customer feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze requirements and updates for alignment with business objectives.
  • Mediate conflicting requirements from various stakeholders.
  • Guide teams to assess the feasibility of new requirements.
  • Prioritize product/solution requirements to drive the creation of MVPs.
  • Identify areas for product enhancements based on customer feedback.
  • Contribute to the creation of user stories for complex requirements in an agile environment.
  • Direct and guide scoping for epics and user stories.
  • Explore existing products/solutions to address business needs.
  • Assess gaps between customer expectations and existing products/solutions.
  • Anticipate solution risks during requirements gathering and recommend corrective steps.
  • Lead multiple business or technology-driven projects with small to medium-sized teams.
  • Shape architectural decisions and champion scalable solutions.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert and provide technical leadership.
  • Drive availability, quality, performance, and resiliency goals with the team.
  • Produce high-quality software that is unit tested and code reviewed.
  • Investigate and build proof-of-concept prototypes using new technologies.
  • Analyze tools and application logs to determine improvements to the product.
  • Set high standards for operational excellence and system observability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science and 8+ years' experience in software engineering OR Master of Science and 3 years' experience in software engineering.
  • 8 years of experience with developing and supporting complex systems using Java.
  • 6+ years of experience with Java/JEE, Spring Framework.
  • 6+ years of experience with Spark, Scala, and Airflow.
  • 6+ years of experience with relational databases (Azure SQL Server, Postgres).
  • 6+ years of experience with cloud platforms (Azure/GCP).
  • 6+ years of experience with micro-services architectures, event-based architecture (Kafka), Kubernetes, and Docker.
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (Dynatrace, Splunk).
  • CI/CD experience and familiarity with TDD and automated testing frameworks.
  • Experience with DevOps in a KPI-driven agile environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with big data technologies.
  • Retail/Supply Chain and Replenishment experience.
  • Knowledge of software architecture, distributed systems, and scalability.
  • Experience in creating modular and extensible designs for products.
