About the position

We are offering an employment opportunity for a Technical Writer I in Cary, North Carolina. The role involves contributing to documentation as a member of the Research and Development team in the technology industry. The chosen candidate will be responsible for developing, writing, and editing material for system updates, user manuals, and data sheets. This position requires a strong understanding of technical documentation standards and the ability to translate complex engineering data into user-friendly procedures and instructions. The Technical Writer I will work closely with various teams, including Service, Marketing, Training, Engineering, and Sustaining Engineering, to gather information and provide feedback on technical issues. The role also involves managing multiple cross-functional projects and ensuring adherence to technical documentation processes. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to build consensus with partners to promote team interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and edit technical documents, ensuring compliance with quality system and regulatory requirements.
  • Organize material to promote ease of use and quick access to necessary information.
  • Research existing procedures and engage with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather source data and establish documentation requirements.
  • Translate complex engineering data into user-friendly procedures and instructions.
  • Coordinate with multiple teams, including Service, Marketing, Training, Engineering, and Sustaining Engineering to provide feedback and support on technical issues.
  • Publish final documents in a DITA Adobe and Word desktop publishing environment.
  • Develop and adhere to technical documentation standards and communications, including templates and style guides.
  • Coordinate the printing, electronic publications, and distribution of technical documentation.
  • Manage multiple cross-functional projects, ensuring adherence to technical documentation processes.
  • Utilize strong interpersonal skills to build consensus with partners and promote team interaction.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Communication and Documentation skills
  • Familiarity with Marketing principles and strategies
  • Experience in preparing and presenting Training materials
  • Knowledge of Procedures and Compliance regulations
  • Ability to conduct Research and handle Materials efficiently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Office Suites
  • Understanding of Quality control and Review processes
  • Ability to provide Workstation Support and handle On-Line tasks
  • Familiarity with Collection Processes and Typing skills
  • Background in Engineering and Cloud Technologies
  • Experience in building relationships with Partners and understanding of Consumer Electronics
  • Knowledge of Media industry and Printing processes
  • Skills in Research Analysis and ability to work in Agile environments
  • Familiarity with various operating systems for workstations.
