About the position

The position drives sales in the Vision Center by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, including accurate and competitive pricing, proper signing, and maintaining in-stock and inventory levels. The role models, enforces, and provides direction to Associates on customer service approaches to ensure customer needs and complaints are resolved within company guidelines. It also involves overseeing community outreach programs and encouraging Associates to engage with the community. Compliance with company and legal policies is essential, which includes analyzing reports, implementing safety controls, and developing action plans to improve performance. The position provides supervision and development opportunities for Associates through hiring, training, mentoring, and ensuring diversity awareness. Quality eyewear provision is also a key responsibility, which includes consulting with customers, selecting products, obtaining measurements, and maintaining optical equipment. The role upholds the company's Open Door Policy by addressing Associate concerns and ensuring compliance with company policies. Leadership expectations include building diverse teams, maintaining integrity, delivering customer service, and striving for excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales in the Vision Center through effective merchandise presentation.
  • Ensure accurate and competitive pricing, proper signing, and inventory levels.
  • Budget and forecast sales while assessing economic trends and community needs.
  • Model and enforce customer service approaches to resolve customer issues.
  • Oversee community outreach programs and encourage Associate participation.
  • Ensure compliance with company and legal policies and procedures.
  • Analyze reports and implement safety controls and action plans for performance improvement.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for Associates through hiring, training, and mentoring.
  • Consult with customers to provide quality eyewear and maintain optical equipment.
  • Uphold the company's Open Door Policy and address Associate concerns.

Requirements

  • Completion of 2 or more years of college OR 1 year's retail experience and 1 year's supervisory experience OR 2 years' general work experience including 1 year's optical experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current eligibility to work as an optician or apprentice optician under applicable state laws.
