About the position

The Journeyman Business and Financial Operations Specialist position at Aeyon involves a multifaceted role focused on financial operations within the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG). The primary responsibilities include assisting the CG-834 staff in developing, running, and analyzing various financial reports, procurement reports, training reports, logistics reports, and metrics. This role requires a deep understanding of financial management and procurement processes, as well as the ability to leverage technology, particularly SharePoint and the Microsoft Power Platform, to enhance operational efficiency and reporting accuracy. The specialist will serve as a subject matter expert in CG/Federal Procurement and Contracting, aiding in the development of SharePoint and other training tools that align with the financial modernization and sustainment objectives of the Coast Guard. Establishing and maintaining working agreements and governance frameworks, such as MOUs, MOAs, and SLAs, with CG Common Core customers is essential to facilitate the integration of financial synergies and efficiencies. Additionally, the role involves managing and maintaining process tools, workflows, training, and performance metrics on the CG Common Core, ensuring consistency with standardized processes and best practices. The specialist will also identify training requirements for CG Common Core and other financial management and procurement systems, supporting the development of training programs to address these gaps and promote process standardization. Providing process and system training to CG users and instructors is crucial for fostering a standard and consistent training environment across the organization. Familiarity with the Financial Resource Management Manual (FRMM) and procurement policies as outlined in the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Homeland Security Acquisition Regulations, Coast Guard Acquisition Procedures, and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) Manual is necessary. The specialist should also have experience with various financial systems, including the Financial Procurement Desktop (FPD), Core Accounting System (CAS), Financial System Modernization Solution (FSMS), CG Business Intelligence (CGBI), and SharePoint software. Other duties, tasks, and projects may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, run, and analyze financial reports, procurement reports, training reports, logistics reports, and metrics.
  • Assist with the development of SharePoint and other training tools on CG Common Core to meet financial modernization and sustainment objectives.
  • Establish and maintain working agreements and governance (MOU/MOA/SLA) with CG Common Core customers.
  • Assist in the maintenance of CG Common Core configuration control board.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain process tools, workflows, training, and performance metrics on the CG Common Core.
  • Identify CG Common Core and other Financial Management and Procurement systems training requirements and support training development.
  • Provide process and system training to CG users and instructors.
  • Familiarize with Financial Resource Management Manual (FRMM) and procurement policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in financial operations or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
  • Valid Secret Clearance is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Coast Guard policies and systems procedures within financial management.
  • Certification as Microsoft Power Platform Solution Architect Expert.
  • Certification as CDFM or CGFM.
  • Experience with automation procedures.
