The North Central Kansas Special Education Cooperative is seeking a special education teacher to work in USD 269 Palco. USD 269 Palco has a 4-day week calendar. They have a part-time therapy dog to work with their students. They are introducing an Ag Curriculum, which will provide additional experiences for their students not offered by other schools in the area. As the high school students age and transition into more life skills focused lessons, they have the McKenna Center located near the school where arrangements could be made to visit to have hands on learning in the kitchen and focus on health and wellness in a real world setting. Although preference will be given to candidates currently holding the High Incidence Special Education endorsement, the NCKSEC welcomes all applicants with elementary-level license to apply (including Early Childhood Unified B-3). Temporary licensure waivers are available. The NCKSEC offers a tuition reimbursement program designed to allow non-endorsed teachers the opportunity to pursue a graduate-level program leading to full endorsement in special education and, in most cases, a Master`s degree.
