About the position

The USDA Underwriter at iBusiness Funding is responsible for reviewing USDA Rural Development loan applications, ensuring they meet regulatory standards and eligibility criteria. This role involves conducting detailed financial analyses, preparing credit memorandums, and collaborating with various stakeholders to facilitate the loan closing process. The position is remote and requires a strong background in financial analysis and commercial loan underwriting.

Responsibilities

• Review USDA B&I, CF, REAP, and WWD applications against an approval checklist by product type.
• Complete initial eligibility analysis and financial statement spreading.
• Conduct detailed analysis of repayment capacity and financial metrics.
• Prepare Credit Memorandum for final credit approval.
• Ensure the closing team has all necessary details and stipulations for loan closing.
• Engage in discussions regarding prospective loan requests with various stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with each USDA application.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Three (3) or more years of USDA Rural Development experience.
• Three (3) or more years in commercial loan underwriting, financial analysis, or portfolio management experience.
• Proficient in financial spreading.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to prioritize and operate with a sense of urgency.
• Excellent working knowledge of all systems utilized by the department.
