About the position

The User Experience and Technology Librarian will lead user-focused customer service initiatives and manage engagement initiatives at the OSU-Tulsa library. This role involves supervising the Access Services team to ensure excellent customer service, coordinating user technology with the IT department, and maintaining the library's physical collections. The librarian will also perform various professional duties, including research assistance, collection development, instructional duties, marketing, event management, and staff training, while engaging with online students. The position emphasizes a commitment to developing innovative library services and supporting the growth of the library team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead user-focused customer service initiatives.
  • Supervise the Access Services team to provide excellent customer service.
  • Coordinate user technology in conjunction with the IT department.
  • Maintain the library's physical collections.
  • Serve as the point of contact for The Oklahoma Textbook Review Center.
  • Perform research assistance and collection development.
  • Participate in campus and library committees.
  • Conduct instructional duties and marketing activities.
  • Manage event planning and execution.
  • Train staff and create training materials.
  • Engage with online students.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of current library experience, preferably in an academic setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities or supervisory experience.
  • Experience or understanding of customer service and service management.
  • Understanding of training and teaching library systems across multiple platforms.
  • Experience providing reference and literature assistance in a library context.
  • Knowledge of current initiatives for academic libraries.
  • Familiarity with current technologies and software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to foster positive and collaborative working relationships.

Nice-to-haves

  • Masters of Library Science from an ALA Accredited program.
