About the position

The User Experience Designer Lead will play a crucial role in enhancing the user experience of construction project stakeholders by leading the design and implementation of mobile and web applications. This position requires a user-centric mindset and the ability to translate user research into high-performance design specifications, ensuring the successful adoption of ConcreteDirect on a global scale.

Responsibilities

  • Gathering and evaluating user requirements, collaborating with managers and developers.
  • Illustrating design ideas/UI mockups using storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps.
  • Designing graphic user interface elements (e.g. menus, tabs, and widgets) and documenting specifications.
  • Preparing and presenting rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders.
  • Identifying and troubleshooting UX problems (e.g. responsiveness).
  • Working firsthand with the product development team and leading user feedback sessions.
  • Conducting user surveys and analyzing results.
  • Interviewing stakeholders at their location of work (i.e. construction job site).
  • Performing product demonstrations for internal and external stakeholders (virtual and in-person).
  • Involvement in the administrative duties of the digital team (vendor management/evaluation, purchase order generation, and payment management).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, preferably a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
  • 5 years of experience as a UI-UX Designer or similar role with a professional design designation.
  • Strong skills with designer tools for mocking UI.
  • Strong ability to make UI communicate the path laid out by UX principles.
  • Experience with development collaboration tools - Git.
  • Experience with language-specific UI frameworks in Java/JavaScript/.Net.
  • Understanding of Cloud Native services on AWS.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with agile product development software (e.g. Jira).
