About the position

The position involves driving the development of new research studies by analyzing business strategy and knowledge gaps. The role includes product discovery planning in collaboration with design and product partners, providing coaching to other researchers, and facilitating cross-functional Design Thinking exercises using research findings. The candidate will also identify UX metrics worth tracking, prepare and teach introductory training material on experience research, and facilitate stakeholder relationships throughout research studies. Presenting findings to team members and stakeholders from multi-disciplinary backgrounds is also a key responsibility. This position requires up to 30% domestic and international travel.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the development of new research studies by analyzing business strategy and knowledge gaps.
  • Drive product discovery planning with design and product partners.
  • Provide coaching to other researchers in the shaping of their studies and findings.
  • Drive cross-functional Design Thinking exercises using research findings.
  • Identify UX metrics worth tracking.
  • Prepare and teach introductory training material on experience research.
  • Facilitate stakeholder relationships and scope changes throughout research study.
  • Present findings to team members and stakeholders from multi-disciplinary backgrounds.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Human Computer Interaction, Behavioral Science, User Experience, Information Architecture or related field plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as User Experience Research Lead, UX Researcher, UX Designer, UX Consultant, Analyst, or related occupation.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Human Computer Interaction, Behavioral Science, User Experience, Information Architecture or related field plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as User Experience Research Lead, UX Researcher, UX Designer, UX Consultant, Analyst, or related occupation.
  • Experience with defining research agenda and scopes within product strategy and business needs.
  • Planning and conducting research using a variety of methodologies including concept testing, usability study, semi-structured interview, co-design, and survey.
  • Experience with contextual inquiry and diary study.
  • Project planning and management skills.
  • Familiarity with UserZoom, Miro, FigJam, and Confluence.
