About the position

Stride Tutoring is a startup within Stride's portfolio, focused on creating an innovative educational platform that connects tutors with students. The User Experience Researcher will play a crucial role in understanding user needs and experiences, collaborating with various teams to enhance product development and ensure high-quality online tutoring services. This position requires a blend of research expertise, creativity, and the ability to manage multiple projects throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Independently lead research efforts to support product development across the product lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify and define research objectives.
  • Employ various research methodologies to understand user experiences and needs.
  • Manage research operational tasks like participant recruiting and gift card distribution.
  • Present research insights to key decision-makers and stakeholders.
  • Equip stakeholders with insights to inform product strategy and development decisions.
  • Work closely with product teams to ensure features meet user needs and address feedback.
  • Establish customer satisfaction measurement processes to gather actionable insights.
  • Create empathy within the organization by sharing insights about users' needs and experiences.

Requirements

  • Five years of industry experience in UX research, product research, or related fields.
  • Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop product strategies.
  • Ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
  • Deep knowledge of human-centered design and product research methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with building surveys, developing unmoderated tests, and facilitating usability tests.
  • Ability to pivot and adapt when necessary.
  • Strategic thinker and creative problem-solver.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree or industry-recognized certification in a relevant field.
  • Prior experience in user experience or product research within the EdTech sector.
  • Knowledge of the EdTech market and trends.
  • Understanding of GDPA, COPPA, and FERPA standards.
  • Experience using tools like Heap, Hotjar, Qualtrics, UserTesting.com, and Figma.
