About the position

As a Staff User Experience Researcher at Newell Brands, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing user experiences by collaborating with various teams including Marketing, R&D, Design, and Consumer Insights. Your responsibilities will include managing research labs, conducting user research, and translating findings into actionable insights to inform product design. This position requires a strong understanding of user experience methodologies and the ability to communicate research findings effectively to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain on-site research labs.
  • Assist with activities associated with user experience research, including maintaining user research tracking databases, supporting participant recruiting efforts, running cameras, and data collection.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Engineering, and Design to effectively deliver industry-leading user experience solutions.
  • Support the interpretation and translation of product requirements into meaningful user experiences.
  • Participate in all phases of the user research process, including user recruitment, study design, moderating, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Utilize various qualitative and quantitative research methods, such as usability testing, surveys, interviews, and competitive analysis, to gain deep insights into user needs and behaviors.
  • Effectively collect key objective/behavioral and subjective measures via user research and directly translate data into actionable recommendations for product design.
  • Communicate research findings to stakeholders clearly and succinctly through reports, presentations, and workshops.

Requirements

  • Minimum Masters of Science in Human Factors Engineering, Cognitive Psychology, Ergonomics/Anthropometrics or related field.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Understanding of data visualization and ability to present research data clearly.
  • Knowledge of ergonomic/anthropometric data and ability to conduct basic ergonomic analysis.
  • Familiarity with various research methodologies and data collection techniques.
  • Ability to conduct basic statistical analysis and input findings into reports.
  • Experience with a broad range of research methodologies related to user experience design.
  • Ability to conduct usability studies, including moderation and planning.
  • Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and independently toward project goals.
  • Self-motivated and flexible, with a willingness to learn new things.
  • Ability to occasionally travel and work internationally.
  • Technical experience with Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, and Miro.
