About the position

Eccalon LLC is seeking a User Interface Designer (UI) who will play a crucial role in designing inclusive and immersive digital experiences. This position involves collaborating with a diverse team of designers, product leaders, engineers, and data scientists to create impactful visual interfaces for a variety of products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in user experience and visual design, with the ability to solve complex design challenges and implement design thinking effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with product managers, engineers, researchers, and other designers to define great experiences from initial concept through successful implementation.
  • Visualize and prototype intended solutions at various levels of fidelity including high-level wireframes, conceptual designs, design presentations and detailed specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with Agile Scrum teams, working iteratively to deliver customer value.
  • Provide designs that meet all required accessibility requirements for both government and commercial systems.
  • Use customer insights from analytics and interactions to inform business and design decisions.
  • Facilitate and participate in user research like interviews and usability testing to validate designs and make iterative improvements.
  • Lead design-thinking exercises to collaboratively solve complex design challenges.
  • Proactively identify challenges and recommend solutions to enhance overall user engagement and satisfaction.
  • Produce sketches, workflow diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, and design documentation.
  • Lead product demos to clients and key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience as a Product Designer or UX designer with demonstrated experience working with product management teams and technical stakeholders.
  • Quality portfolio of recent work showcasing user-centered design process and final design solutions.
  • BA/BS or graduate degree in HCI, interaction design, or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with design, prototyping, and user research tools such as Figma, Miro, Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Analytics.
  • Expert knowledge and experience with visual design tools like Sketch, Figma, and Adobe XD.
  • Experience with agile software design methods.
  • Experience supporting a complex ecosystem with multiple products.
  • Comfortable working on a distributed team and collaborating remotely.
