About the position

The User Research Analyst position within the Florida Blue military SkillBridge Internship program is designed for military service members transitioning to civilian careers. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in network management and healthcare, aligning with the strategic talent needs of the company. Participants in this program will receive on-the-job training and experience, with the potential for full-time employment upon successful completion of the internship. The Network Management Department is responsible for establishing and maintaining the processes, tools, and applications necessary for administering, operating, and maintaining a network structure. This position is remote, allowing for flexibility while continuing to receive military pay and benefits during the internship period. The internship is expected to start in May or June and requires a commitment of approximately 120 days, although this is flexible based on the needs of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Research provider participation data, contract terms, language, and rates using computer systems.
• Compile information and prepare reports related to network management.
• Compose and prepare responses to routine inquiries from internal and external business partners regarding network participation.
• Support network staff with various clerical requests and tasks.
• Manage Key Group terminations and additions, collaborating with Credentialing and payment teams to ensure accurate data.
• Handle the EWOC mailbox for team compliance and reporting, ensuring effective communication.
• Review provider contracts for legal, language, and rate clarifications as needed.
• Distribute various documents to providers and internal business partners, including termination letters and payment forms.
• Perform Group Roster Validation and complete the Termination Planning Tool for all terminations.
• Conduct member moves and communicate with other Blue plans through Blue Squared.
• Review, certify, and change network assignments in various systems.

Requirements

• Military members must be within 180 days of transition from active duty.
• An approximate 120-day commitment is required, though this is flexible.
• Candidates must be comfortable working in a remote setting.
• Grade Officers (E1-E5) are preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field.
• Working knowledge of CPT-4 and ICD-9 coding systems, HCPCS, revenue codes, and medical terminology.
• Solid understanding of provider reimbursement methodologies, including fee-for-service, per diem, DRG, flat rate, capitation, and discounted fees.
