About the position

The User Researcher - III position at The Judge Group Inc. is a mid-to-senior level role focused on driving transformation and innovation through user experience research. The researcher will be a core member of the Customer Marketplace Insights (CMI) team, collaborating closely with Experience Designers and Managers to execute UX research projects aimed at understanding the needs and experiences of business customers. The role involves a critical approach to research, challenging existing methodologies, and ensuring the integrity of research processes.

Responsibilities

  • Execute research activities such as user interviews, testing, evaluation, field studies, and journey mapping to uncover insights.
  • Produce research documents including screeners, question guides, and reports.
  • Moderate and host workshops, including ideation sessions.
  • Build impactful insights and narratives that highlight relevant user orientations and behaviors.
  • Conduct desk research to inform new projects.
  • Manage the research participant experience, ensuring comfort and data protection.
  • Collaborate with and manage stakeholders across various functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a research-related discipline.
  • Five or more years of related non-academic work experience in a dedicated research role.
  • Experience defining and planning research methodologies in context of project scope and timeline.
  • Proficiency in user research methods such as usability testing, user interviews, and diary studies.
  • Experience crafting discussion guides and tools to reveal customer needs.
  • Experience moderating and planning field studies and usability studies in various environments.
  • Understanding of qualitative generative research and evaluative methodologies.
  • Basic understanding of quantitative research and when to seek specialist help.
  • Experience with secondary data and trends analysis.
  • Demonstrated impact of UX research on business and product decisions.
  • Experience working closely with designers and business units.
  • Adept at managing stakeholders and understanding their needs.
  • Experience with project management in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently on various tasks.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Masters or Ph.D. in Anthropology, Human Factors, Psychology, HCI/Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience providing insights for digital engagement (websites, apps, APIs).
  • Experience with learning programs.
  • Experience with B2B workstreams.
  • Partner, vendor, and resource management experience.
  • Some understanding of semiotics.
