About the position

We're seeking an experienced User Researcher to join our growing team. This role will be instrumental in shaping our product decisions through deep user insights and strategic research initiatives. In this role, you'll lead end-to-end research projects from planning and methodology selection to execution and presentation of findings, working at both a strategic and tactical level. You will conduct qualitative and quantitative research including user interviews, usability testing, participatory design, diary studies, usability studies, and surveys - to deliver the right type of data and insights at the right time. You will deliver actionable insights that enable us to deeply understand our customers, identify business opportunities, and shape decision-making. Proactively share these insights, leveraging clear communication strategies and advanced storytelling, and adapting your approach for different audiences. Additionally, you will build strong cross-functional relationships, partnering with Design, Product, Engineering, and Data Science to integrate research and user feedback into different phases of product development process.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end research projects from planning and methodology selection to execution and presentation of findings.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research including user interviews, usability testing, participatory design, diary studies, usability studies, and surveys.
  • Deliver actionable insights that enable us to deeply understand our customers, identify business opportunities, and shape decision-making.
  • Proactively share insights using clear communication strategies and advanced storytelling, adapting your approach for different audiences.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships, partnering with Design, Product, Engineering, and Data Science to integrate research and user feedback into product development.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional industry experience in UX research, ideally for digital products.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Behavioral Economics, Anthropology, Sociology, or similar.
  • Ability to balance craft, speed, and business needs, with a record of using research skills to drive product and business impact.
  • Understanding of the strengths and limitations of different research methods and hands-on experience independently designing and running UX research.
  • Good listening skills and ability to collaborate well with different stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Masters or PhD Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Behavioral Economics, Anthropology, Sociology, or similar.
  • Advanced survey expertise, including sampling, questionnaire design and data analysis skills.
  • Passion for working and learning in a fast-growing company.
  • Experience with SQL, R, Python or other data analysis tools.
  • Experience communicating research to executive stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with the work of computing heroes like Douglas Engelbart, Alan Kay, Bret Victor, etc.
