About the position

The User Researcher role is focused on understanding consumer behavior through various research methods, including focus groups, surveys, and usability sessions. The position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate findings effectively to diverse audiences. The User Researcher will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance customer experiences across digital applications, advocating for user-centered design principles and integrating research into product development.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent research on multiple aspects of products and experiences within Customer's Digital application portfolio.
  • Collect and analyze user behavior through lab studies, field visits, ethnography, surveys, benchmark studies, customer satisfaction feedback, etc.
  • Work with Designers, Product Managers, Engineers and other UXRs to prioritize research opportunities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment that are time boxed with clear specific deliverables.
  • Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research.
  • Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and in-person presentations.
  • Create journey maps, user flows, personas, and service blueprints when needed.
  • Synthesize research findings and deliver executive summaries to stakeholders.
  • Interact with cross-functional teams and drive customer experience strategy and best practices to implement applications and platforms while maintaining a cohesive end-to-end experience.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of experience and proven track record in User Research or other qualitative and quantitative research.
  • 2+ years with unmoderated interviews.
  • 3+ years consulting with stakeholders to prioritize research opportunities.
  • Ability to effectively present research findings and recommendations to multi-level stakeholders.
  • Experience integrating user research into product designs and design practices.
  • Experience conducting research for complex digital applications such as ecommerce or other complex management software.
  • Strong understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years experience with UserTesting.
  • Experience with Miro, Dovetail, Airtable, Camtasia or video editing skills.
  • Links to research portfolio or work examples.
