About the position

The CFO at TOPS Surgical Specialty Hospital and Memorial Hermann Kingwood Surgical Hospital plays a crucial role in directing the finance and accounting functions of the organization. This position is integral to the success of the hospitals, which are recognized for their advanced surgical care and commitment to patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills, along with a deep understanding of regulatory and accounting standards. The CFO is responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial and compliance reporting, ensuring that all financial operations align with the hospital's mission, vision, and values. In this role, the CFO will oversee various departments, including the Business Office, Revenue Cycle, Facilities, IT, Materials Management, and Case Management. They will be tasked with identifying cost-effective systems to support the organization while considering business trends and resource availability. The CFO will collaborate with other managers to meet facility goals and will be a key member of the Senior Management Team, directly interacting with the Hospital Leadership Team, Governing Board, Executive Committee, and USPI & Tenet Senior Leaders. Key financial management activities include financial planning, budgeting and forecasting, revenue cycle management, expense management, financial reporting, regulatory reporting, and capital planning and management. The CFO must demonstrate leadership in financial operations, hospital operations, fiscal affairs, strategic financial planning, internal controls, and compliance. The ability to analyze and interpret statistics and other data is essential to meet the high standards set by TOPS Surgical Specialty Hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the finance and accounting functions of the organization.
  • Oversee financial management activities including financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Manage revenue cycle and expense management processes.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Lead capital planning and management initiatives.
  • Oversee operational responsibilities across various departments including Business Office and IT.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to meet facility goals and objectives.
  • Analyze and interpret financial data to support decision-making processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is required.
  • Master's Degree in Business, Accounting, or Healthcare Administration is preferred.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hospital financial management and revenue cycle experience is required.
  • Recent management experience of multiple departments including business office functions is required.
  • Demonstrated leadership, analytical, and computer skills are essential.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
