About the position

The Utilities Coordinator is responsible for managing preventative and reactive maintenance tasks through the administration of the Division's Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS). This role involves receiving and processing work orders, scheduling and prioritizing tasks, analyzing work trends, and coordinating with contractors and city departments to ensure efficient resource management and compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and administer work orders and service requests, performing initial job screening.
  • Schedule and prioritize work requests based on urgency and resource availability.
  • Analyze work order data to identify trends and suggest system improvements.
  • Coordinate with contractors and engineers regarding internal and external work requests.
  • Develop and maintain databases to monitor key information related to personnel and budget.
  • Facilitate management meetings and coordinate staff training sessions.
  • Participate in the development of the annual divisional budget and suggest efficiencies.
  • Monitor and report on system key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in maintenance management or a related field.
  • Knowledge of standard practices, methods, and materials of assigned work.
  • Valid North Carolina Class C Driver's license or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
