About the position

Kinsley Construction is seeking Equipment Operators and Service Technicians for their Utilities gas line crews in York County, PA. The role involves trenching, excavating, and installing pipelines, as well as performing pipefitting tasks and ensuring safety and compliance with gas codes. Successful candidates will demonstrate a willingness to learn, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Trenching and excavating to install and replace pipelines.
• Backfilling after pipe installations.
• Daily maintenance of equipment.
• Assisting in the installation of pipelines.
• Job site hazard recognition.
• Driving non-CDL dump trucks and service trucks.
• Completing pipefitting tasks using basic hand tools.
• Relocating gas meters from inside to outside.
• Installing pressure set point gauges.
• Performing load/lockup tests.
• Pinpointing and managing possible leaks.
• Recognizing hazards and tagging customer fuel lines or appliances as needed.
• Completing electronic orders and documenting gas meter information.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum experience of 1 year in pipe installation for Pipelayer position.
• Minimum experience of 2 years operation equipment for Equipment Operator position.
• Basic knowledge of the MSP, GOM, and Fuel Gas Code for Service Technician position.
• HVAC knowledge to perform meter activation and relight natural gas appliances in accordance with UGI procedures for Service Technician position.
• Experience working with and around heavy equipment.
• Ability to perform physical activities requiring considerable use of arms, legs, and moving whole body.
• Valid PA driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
• Positive attitude and ability to work well with others.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
