About the position

The position involves maintaining and operating critical infrastructure systems within the FDA-regulated industry, focusing on mechanical systems, steam pressure heating systems, water systems, and ventilation systems. The role requires a strong understanding of technical documentation and the ability to support various stakeholders in project and renovation work. The technician will ensure compliance with safety and efficacy guidelines while performing preventive maintenance and repairs on essential equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a daily log of metrics gathered, such as water quality tests and safety checks.
• Provides support for co-workers, contractors, vendors, project managers, and engineers as necessary.
• Safely and efficiently operate and maintain all mechanical systems, including steam pressure heating systems and refrigeration equipment.
• Performs service and preventive maintenance on chillers, circulating pumps, and control valves.
• Checks temperature, pressure gauges, and water levels to ensure proper operating conditions for boilers and cooling towers.
• Monitors and logs readings of high-pressure boilers, chillers, and related equipment.
• Assists plumbing or HVAC journeyman in the installation and repair of boiler house equipment as needed.
• Operates, maintains, and repairs boilers and auxiliary equipment, including water RO systems and boiler controls.
• Gains familiarity with the Utility Monitoring System to monitor and trend performance of plant equipment.

Requirements

• Ability to read and understand information contained in various documents or displayed on a computer screen.
• Ability to use a variety of office equipment and operate a computer keyboard to access databases and prepare documents.
• Experience in critical infrastructure systems operations and maintenance.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, steam pressure heating systems, water systems, and ventilation systems.
