About the position
The Utility A position at UGI Utilities, Inc. is an entry-level role based in Lancaster, PA, focused on performing general natural gas utility tasks. The role involves training and gaining experience to qualify for various pipe fitting and utility tasks, including gas meter turn-ons, installations, and emergency responses. Employees will progress through a four-tiered system, ultimately qualifying for the Mechanic II level.
Responsibilities
- Pipe Fitting
- Gas service turn-on's and shut off's
- Meter Change outs/replacements
- Facility locating
- Emergency Response
Requirements
- HS Diploma or Equivalent
- 2 - 3 years' experience in pipe fitting, plumbing, HVAC installation or a related field
- Ability to pre-employment drug test and general health physical and physical abilities test
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Possess a valid PA Driver's license with safe driving history
- Must live within the service territory of the job location
- Mechanical ability and ability to do physical labor
Nice-to-haves
- Associate degree in plumbing, HVAC or related field a plus
