About the position
The Utility Infrastructure Program and Policy Chief is a key leadership role within the Public Service Commission (PSC) of Wisconsin, responsible for managing the portfolio of electric and natural gas construction dockets. This position oversees docket planning and record development for project applications requiring Certificates of Authority or Certificates of Public Convenience and Necessity. The Chief will lead efforts in research and analysis related to the electric and natural gas industries, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and engaging relevant stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Manage the overall portfolio of electric and natural gas construction dockets.
- Oversee docket planning and record development for project applications requiring Certificates of Authority or Certificates of Public Convenience and Necessity.
- Provide program and process leadership to ensure statutory requirements are met.
- Initiate and lead research and in-depth studies on issues in the electric and natural gas industry.
- Direct staff in preparing special reports, analyses, and memoranda on policy, programs, or proposed rules.
- Identify and recommend internal process and policy changes to meet agency objectives.
Requirements
- Experience overseeing or leading the work of other professional staff in a supervisory role.
- Experience prioritizing and coordinating work effectively.
- Experience developing and evaluating policy alternatives and making recommendations to decision makers.
- Experience working with legal orders, policy, and regulatory statutes.
