About the position
The Utility Inspection Technician role at RECONN involves conducting inspections of gas meters and pipes in both commercial and residential facilities. The technician is responsible for identifying leaks and corrosion, completing necessary paperwork, and ensuring public safety. This position requires effective communication and the ability to work in various weather conditions, with a focus on quality and safety in the utility industry.
Responsibilities
- Conduct visual inspections of gas meters and pipes for leaks and corrosion.
- Complete all required paperwork and data associated with inspections.
- Report to the designated work area on time at the start of each shift.
- Identify any abnormal operating conditions during inspections.
- Accurately fill out forms related to inspection visits, either electronically or on paper.
Requirements
- Proficient in using current technology, including smartphones and tablets.
- Effective communication skills for one-on-one and group settings.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Experience working outdoors in various weather conditions is preferred.
- Must pass a drug screen.
- Valid driver's license and a safe driving record are required.
