About the position

Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs, and lays pipe for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains.
• Signals equipment operators to ensure safe and proper excavation.
• Coordinates all activities in the excavation area.
• Utilizes tools and equipment necessary for the job.
• Connects pipe pieces and seals joints using cement or glue.
• Cuts pipes to required lengths.
• Uses a variety of power and hand tools.
• Grades and levels trench bases.
• Taps and drills holes into pipes to introduce auxiliary lines or devices.
• Installs and uses instruments such as lasers, grade rods, and transit levels.
• Cleans tools, equipment, and work areas.
• Follows the company's safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Six months of work experience in construction or a related field.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including lifting up to 50 pounds and working in various weather conditions.
