Utility Operator

About the position

We are seeking a skilled Utility Operator to join our dynamic team in a manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be adept at using various precision measuring instruments. This role involves operating and maintaining equipment, ensuring optimal performance, and providing excellent customer service. The Utility Operator will play a crucial role in supporting production processes and maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor utility systems, including electrical and mechanical equipment, running a number of different machines, such as honing, lapping, buffing, deburring, and washing.
• Fabricate components as needed to support production operations.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments such as ammeters and ohmmeters to ensure equipment functionality.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on utility systems to minimize downtime.
• Document maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Collaborate with team members to improve operational efficiency and safety protocols.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.

Requirements

• Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments, including ammeters and ohmmeters.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Familiarity with CMMS for tracking maintenance activities.
• Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with team members and clients.
• Ability to read and understand technical documentation in English.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing facility is preferred but not required.
