Utility Operator

About the position

The Utility Operator at Bodycote Thermal Processing is responsible for performing various duties in production departments, including cross-training in post-processing operations. The role involves ensuring the care and treatment of customer inventory, conducting inspections, and following safety protocols while maintaining a neat work environment. This position offers a full-time schedule with opportunities for growth and development within the company.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in any production department and cross-train in post-processing operations.
• Care for and treat customer inventory to prevent loss or damage.
• Review job folders to verify processing areas for parts.
• Conduct visual inspections of parts for defects.
• Use hand tools to perform processing according to work instructions.
• Record and sign off on all applicable data defined in the job folder.
• Report problems, inaccuracies, and damaged parts to the Lead or Supervisor.
• Follow in-process inspection procedures to meet customer requirements.
• Assist supervisor in developing processes to improve operations.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area and adhere to safety policies.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience using hand tools for manual processes preferred.
• Experience in a production environment preferred.
• Demonstrated organization and documentation skills.
