About the position

The position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness in kitchen areas, including trash removal and heavy cleaning functions. The role involves ensuring that food preparation areas meet health and safety standards while assisting other staff as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Remove kitchen trash and dispose of it properly.
  • Maintain cleanliness in assigned kitchen areas according to health department and hotel standards.
  • Notify management of needed repairs in the kitchen area.
  • Perform general cleaning functions requiring ladder access.
  • Power wash kitchen loading/receiving dock daily.
  • Sweep and mop kitchen floors.
  • Assist other stewarding employees with kitchen maintenance as time permits.
  • Obtain kitchen maintenance supplies from storage.
  • Organize kitchen maintenance supply storage areas.
  • Complete additional related duties as requested by management.

Requirements

  • Neat appearance with good personal hygiene.
  • Ability to work from a standing position and/or walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift approximately 30 - 35 pounds repeatedly.
  • Ability to perform reaching, stooping, stretching, crouching, and twisting motions repeatedly.
  • Ability to push approximately 300 - 350 pounds.
  • Visual capabilities to inspect own work upon completion.
  • Ability to climb and work from ladders.
