About The Position

The Utility Process Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Bay County Water Treatment Plant's sludge dewatering centrifuges and associated systems. This skilled technical role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on various mechanical and electrical equipment across multiple water treatment and distribution sites. The technician will report to the Project Manager and Maintenance Coordinator, ensuring efficient operation and compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of experience in equipment repair and maintenance in industrial or water treatment settings.
• Ability to comprehend, speak, and read English.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Possession of or ability to obtain a Class A Florida Commercial Driver's License.
• Experience with Computer Maintenance Management Systems.

Responsibilities

• Operates and optimizes sludge dewatering centrifuges and polymer feed systems.
• Performs routine maintenance, lubrication, and cleanup of equipment.
• Learns troubleshooting techniques for mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Conducts comprehensive preventative maintenance on all equipment.
• Maintains accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
• Assists in fabrication and installation of equipment modifications.
• Performs equipment vibration analysis and thermal imaging for predictive maintenance.
• Learns to operate various heavy equipment such as dump trucks and backhoes.
• Utilizes the Computer Maintenance Management System for resource management.
• Maintains reliable attendance and performs other related duties as assigned.
