About The Position
NovaSource Power Services is seeking a Utility Solar Technician to join our team in Rialto, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) power plants. Your duties will include monitoring plant operations through SCADA systems, commissioning, testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying both AC and DC solar PV systems. This includes working with inverters, PV module arrays, transformers, switchgear, and metering systems. You will ensure a safe work environment by adhering to company protocols and safety standards, and you will be responsible for personal safety, quality, and schedule adherence. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 4 years of experience in a related position or possess Journey level certification. You should have experience in operating and maintaining power plant electrical systems, SCADA and controls systems operation, and troubleshooting advanced electrical components. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and electrical certifications or equivalent military training in the utility or power industry are a plus. You will need to demonstrate knowledge in electrical safety and arc flash standards, as well as the ability to follow operating, switching, maintenance, safety, and environmental procedures. Proficiency in reading and understanding electrical schematics and prints is essential, along with a strong background in medium and high voltage switching and testing.
