About the position
The Utility Worker/Dishwasher is responsible for performing various kitchen activities, including washing dishes and pots, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, and managing food and non-food supplies. This role is essential for ensuring a clean and efficient kitchen environment, supporting the overall operations of the skilled living facility.
Responsibilities
- Performs dish and pot washing, general cleaning duties, and storing food and non-food supplies under supervision.
- Reports any dish machine malfunctions immediately.
- Sets up the dish and pot washing area.
- Prepares for dishwashing and washes pots, dishes, and utensils.
- Distributes and stores clean pots, dishes, and utensils.
- Cleans and maintains the area by the grease container and garbage dumpster.
- Cleans and sanitizes production equipment, work surfaces, and kitchen according to cleaning schedules and procedures.
- Sweeps and washes kitchen floors.
- Empties trash containers as required and washes containers daily.
- Unloads delivery truck every Tuesday and Friday.
Requirements
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions in English.
- Prefer some dishwashing experience but will train for the same.
- Ability to set up and operate dishwashing equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to carry, pull, push, stretch, bend, walk short distances, and stand for long periods of time.
