About the position
The Utility Worker II position at the Town of Centreville involves skilled work in the Department of Public Works, focusing on the installation, maintenance, and repair of streets and water and sewer services. Responsibilities
- Lead others in the repair of water and sewer services.
- Maintain storm drains and replace water meters.
- Perform maintenance on town streets.
- Operate an air compressor, air hammer, tamper, and various types of lawn mowers.
- Check work through spot checks and upon completion.
- Dig and clean ditches and perform snow removal.
- Motivate others in the maintenance and operations of vehicles and mechanical equipment.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited high school or GED is required.
- Valid Driver's License is mandatory.
- Experience in plumbing is preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Graduate in the vocational arts from an accredited high school.
- Journeyman plumber's license is preferred.
Benefits
- Full-time employment with competitive hourly pay ranging from $17.40 to $21.30.
