About the position

The Utility Worker plays a vital role in the operations of SCR Medical Transportation LLC by ensuring the efficient functioning of the bus service. This position involves a variety of tasks including staging buses, assisting drivers, performing minor repairs on vehicles, handling building maintenance, and managing vehicle logistics. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, possess a strong work ethic, and be capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Organize and arrange buses in the staging area according to the daily schedule and driver assignments.
• Support bus drivers by assisting with pre-departure inspections and necessary preparations.
• Perform minor repairs on buses and other vehicles, including changing bulbs, fuses, and windshield wipers.
• Handle minor repairs within the facilities, such as repairing doors, windows, and plumbing fixtures.
• Assist with the cleaning and sanitization of buses and facilities.
• Safely operate company vehicles to transport buses and other vehicles to and from vendor locations for servicing.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the transportation or automotive industry.
• Basic mechanical skills and knowledge of vehicle systems.
• Ability to perform small repairs and maintenance tasks on vehicles.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality.
• Physical stamina to handle manual tasks and lift heavy objects when required.
