About the position

The UTS-Temporary Budget Analyst at UNC CH is responsible for providing analytical support to the School of Medicine, ensuring data integrity and security across the business intelligence portfolio. This role involves building consultative relationships, managing projects, and translating data into actionable insights to support financial and quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong consultative relationships as a key business partner for information.
  • Perform as a data insights advisor to the Business.
  • Provide data models that generate operational and strategic insights.
  • Function as a liaison between project stakeholders and ISD.
  • Synthesize information from various sources to support actionable business decisions.
  • Ensure the highest level of data integrity and security across UNC Health Care's business intelligence portfolio.
  • Support information requests from inception to delivery, defending results and recommendations.
  • Demonstrate efficient project management by defining projects, developing project plans, and setting priorities.
  • Draft reporting requirements and engage ISD development partners to implement solutions.
  • Ensure ad-hoc reporting requests are captured and create standardized dynamic reports where possible.
  • Translate customer data questions into actionable analytic scorecards, dashboards, and reports.
  • Lead the development of effective key performance indicators and management dashboards.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with large, disparate data sets.
  • Experience in data mining, validation, and analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills to interpret and tell the story of the data.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy in communications with customers.
  • Proven experience distilling complex data into insights for nontechnical audiences.
  • Demonstrated use of Business Objects, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
