About the position

The UX Content Designer role at Robert Half involves creating user-focused content that addresses both business and customer needs. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including UX teams and product owners, to design, write, and test in-product content across digital platforms. The designer will lead content initiatives, conduct research, and advocate for user needs while ensuring content aligns with brand standards.

Responsibilities

  • Become an expert in the features, functionality, and business objectives, and an authority on the customers and content needs.
  • Lead content design for key program areas.
  • Collaborate with UX designers from project initiation to delivery, creating content as you iterate with design partners on concepts, user flows, and prototypes.
  • Organize content for discovery and findability.
  • Test, evaluate and improve content, collaborating with UX Researchers on analytics and testing methods.
  • Identify when and why research is needed to inform a content approach.
  • Conduct content discovery, including inventories, audits, and competitive research.
  • Write useful, accessible copy for various user interface elements.
  • Collaborate with UX Designer and Researcher partners on discovery work like card sorts, user surveys, interviews, and workshops.
  • Provide a clear rationale for content design decisions at reviews and share outs.
  • Advocate for the customer and foster empathy from stakeholders.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree or higher in Journalism, Communications, Research, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Collaborative mindset, curiosity, and an open mind.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with a strong understanding of English grammar and mechanics.
  • Ability to align with brand voice and tone standards.
  • Experience with design methods and tools, including Figma.
  • Experience in design thinking and human-centered design methodologies, including facilitating workshops.
  • Excellent time management skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to work through ambiguity.
  • Ability to simplify complex business requirements and translate them into clear and compelling human-sounding content for users.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to support the evolution of the UX content style guide.
  • Understanding of and alignment with the principles of accessibility and inclusion in your content (WCAG 2 requirements).
  • Experience working in an agile development environment; working in design sprints and using Jira to write user stories and plan and track your work.
