About the position

Verily is a subsidiary of Alphabet that is using a data-driven approach to change the way people manage their health and the way healthcare is delivered. Our unique expertise and capabilities in technology, data science and healthcare enable the entire healthcare ecosystem to drive better health outcomes. We are looking for a talented and passionate designer to help define and bring to life a range of solutions related to Verily's precision health platform and its enterprise product offerings, including Workbench. This role is part of our Platform & Enterprise UX team, a highly-collaborative group of designers and content strategists focused on building blocks like our Verily Design System that enable rapid deployment of world-class care and research programs. You will collaborate with other designers, UX researchers, product managers, software engineers, and data scientists to help solve some of the biggest challenges in healthcare and clinical research. You will drive the end-to-end design process for a mix of projects, from discovery through to detailed execution, with the opportunity to distill complex problems into simple, beautiful, and powerful interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of one or more parts of the user experience for data providers, configurators, and/or biomedical researchers, including designing interactions and interfaces.
• Collaborate with user researchers, product managers, content strategists, and other domain experts to understand needs, identify opportunities and constraints, rapidly iterate designs based on feedback, and plan design strategy.
• Work with our engineering team to ensure designs are implemented to spec, and collaborate with them to come up with creative solutions when technical challenges arise.
• Contribute to our UX team culture by contributing to our Verily Design System, participating in design critiques, and supporting cross-Verily UX initiatives, interest groups, and other team activities.
• Evangelize UX through your quality of work, communication, and user advocacy.

Requirements

• An outstanding portfolio of thoughtfully designed products, demonstrating work across the end-to-end design process, from developing strong conceptual foundations to refining the smallest details with clear rationale.
• Bachelor's degree in UX Design, HCI, Interaction Design, or related field with 4+ years of professional UX Design experience in enterprise software, consumer products, medical devices or other relevant areas.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills, with proven success working and aligning with cross-functional stakeholders such as product managers, researchers, and software engineers.
• Familiarity with Figma as well as the technical intricacies of designing accessible, responsive web applications.

Nice-to-haves

• Past work that focuses on Enterprise products, Healthcare, Medical services, or other relevant areas.
• Experience designing rich data visualizations, complex professional tools, flexible enterprise platforms, AI utilities, or related design solutions.
• Proven track record in bringing projects to launch into a commercial market.
