About the position

The Nature Conservancy is seeking a creative and detail-oriented UI/UX Designer to join their Telecommunications clients' UX design team. This role focuses on designing intuitive and engaging user experiences for web applications and digital products, ensuring a user-centric approach throughout the design process. The position is a hybrid contract based in New York, NY or Miami, FL, requiring three days onsite per week, initially for a duration of two months with the potential for extension into 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using Figma
  • Design and optimize navigation menus, search boxes, and landing pages
  • Develop visual design elements and typography that align with brand guidelines
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers and product managers
  • Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback
  • Utilize tools like JIRA and Smart Sheets to track progress and manage projects
  • Implement conversational design for chatbots and IVR systems
  • Ensure consistency in designs across various platforms and devices

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field
  • Proven experience in UI/UX design with a strong portfolio
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies
  • Experience with conversational design and natural language processing
  • Knowledge of web applications and enterprise applications
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience using JIRA and Smart Sheets
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
