About the position

We are excited to welcome a seasoned Senior UX Designer to our team at Sutter Health, where you will play a crucial role in driving the creation of innovative digital health experiences. This position emphasizes strong visual design and communication capabilities, making it essential for you to excel in user research, synthesis, conceptualization, prototyping, design, project management, and success metrics across multiple projects with diverse stakeholder groups. As a Senior UX Designer, you will spearhead comprehensive user research initiatives across Sutter hospitals and doctor's offices, aligning various stakeholder perspectives and synthesizing findings into actionable insights. Your ability to craft compelling presentations infused with captivating storytelling will be vital in transforming complex information into creative solutions that resonate with stakeholders and drive meaningful impact. This role is based out of our Innovation Center in San Francisco, where you will collaborate with interdisciplinary project teams of designers, project managers, and front-line clinical providers to create new products or redesign existing ones. You will be responsible for identifying, testing, and implementing efficient and effective solutions that improve the patient experience, provide time and cost savings, and incorporate human-centered design across Sutter Health's care continuum. Your success will be measured by your ability to design feedback mechanisms that assess project viability, desirability, and feasibility, ensuring that our digital healthcare solutions are not only innovative but also practical and impactful.

Responsibilities

• Drive the creation of innovative digital health experiences.
• Conduct comprehensive user research initiatives across Sutter hospitals and doctor's offices.
• Align diverse stakeholder perspectives and synthesize findings into actionable insights.
• Craft compelling presentations that transform complex information into creative solutions.
• Lead interdisciplinary project teams in creating new or redesigning existing products.
• Identify, test, and implement efficient and effective solutions that improve the patient experience.
• Design feedback mechanisms to measure outcomes on project viability, desirability, and feasibility.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Business, Healthcare, or a related field (equivalent experience accepted).
• 12 years of recent relevant experience in UX design.
• Deep understanding of UX design, design research (both generative and usability), synthesis and insight development, design and business strategy, and prototyping in various mediums.
• Advanced skills in Digital UX and ability to engage multiple stakeholders.
• Knowledge of healthcare structures, stakeholders, regulations, constraints, challenges, trends, incentives, technology, and opportunities is preferred.
• Ability to navigate a large complex organization and understand hospital and clinical processes.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in healthcare UX design is preferred but not required.
